Can't understand the bad reviews: The ice cream is still excellent. Yes, the Mariottis may have seemed more cordial than the new operators, who personally appear a little bit brittle to me. But they are really not unfriendly. It's a shame that unfair nostalgics are pulling the cut here.

Have been visiting each other for many years now and have never been disappointed! You can really taste the freshness that is in this ice cream. Unfortunately, at these times you can't sit on the benches where you always sat with other customers. I would also be happy if the selection of ice cream flavors varied, just to try something different. But otherwise I'm glad to have such a good ice cream parlor in Freiburg😋👍!

Why only 2 stars ??? The friendliness of the staff left a lot to be desired! I have never been served so unfriendly and arrogantly in any Italian ice cream parlor. The ice cream tasted good but since you feel like a supplicant, I will definitely not go there again.

It's really okay, the selection could be a little bit more. But there are other ice cream parlors that I find deliver much better quality. You can definitely go there and it will taste good too, but I don't understand why it is often said that it is one of the best ice cream parlors in Freiburg. I do not think so

The ice cream and the selection in general is fine. But there is still room for improvement in terms of taste. Addendum: Adjusted to 5 stars because of the friendly answer. We may be completely convinced of the next visit and other types of ice cream. And the ice cream itself definitely plays in the upper league. :)

I was today with my friend , i asked for cookies ice cream, but the man put in the Waffle another type , i asked him to bring cookies ice he throw the old one and asked me angry which one ,. I asked him to bring also a mango , he wanted to bring strawberry. Then after he give as the ice cream he called other people to have their order while we still giving the money . I told my friend i will stay out as the shop will be very crowding and we might infected by Corona. It was so unhöflich from him as my friend also feel sorry for that also. Even if it is tasty . The attitude of the seller was very rude and unpolite.

We are long-term customers since the 1st day. Since the new owners took over it, it doesn't taste like it did before. Unfortunately Freiburg no longer has the old Mariotti. I therefore advise against a visit as Freiburg has much better ice cream parlors than the new Mariotti. Best regards.

Sehr gute Eis ! Kugel nuhr 1,10 euro ! 👍AWESOME Ice cream at this place and CHEAP also. Probably the best 👍in town. The boss is very kind and the staff too. Real pieces of almond and nuss make the ice cream really delicious 😋. The other type of ice cream are also really really good... - Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte macchiato and coffee-to-go gently served by the staff. - And you can savour them right in the place, protected from the sun... 😎

This is actually some of the best ice cream/gelato that I have had while in germany (and I've eaten a lot of ice cream). The cream base of the ice cream tastes very high quality and the fruitier flavors are bursting with real fruit. If you walk all the way to the Johanneskirche why not just take a few extra steps to Mariotti?

There are many varieties of ice cream; Standard and specials such. As blood orange or peppermint. Tastes very delicious. Good value for money! Inside very few seats. Outside some wooden benches. Friendly service staff! Recommended!
